AMsoccer Club's first International Game v. Space City FC. The friendly was a warm-up game for the tournament, and allowed Tournament Director Neil McCallum to see AMsoccer Club in action for the first time. "After watching AMsoccer Club tonight, I am truly amazed at the way they pass the ball, they don't play like British players and must have enjoyed 70% possession. American soccer is based on speed & strength and the way AMsoccer Club play will be of great interest with many small, young techincal players. A wonderful opening goal by Jonathan Cartwright & a well deserved Man-of-the-match award for Dylan Cluckie who was fantastic throughout,i don't think he gave the ball away. They will be a positive addition to our tournament & are delighted to have them at their staff in Houston."

  2. AMsoccer Club - 249 completed passes
Space City - 136 completed passes

Win or lose no scores will be published on the blog (also SYFA rules for this age group), but pass count should give an indication of our clubs focus and will ensure development of all players giving the players & parents a "result". We will discuss winning with the players when they are older but having the ball should ensure this is a consequence of them playing and not the focus of them playing. We see success as the ability to compete in the "passcount" with top teams (other clubs with high passcount numbers not high scores). Hopefully this will begin to address the cultural problems with football in Scotland and the poor quality of players our nation produces. Thank you for your support. AM
